RSS Reader

This may not be the right forum and if so let me know where I should post this.

I'm trying to put a feed which I already have set up so that it will display in another site I'm working on. I want it to be very simple (small window|one feed) and the pre-packaged readers are much to involved. When RSS were young, I think there were simple codes, etc. that could do this.

Any ideas where I should look or how I should do this.

I'm an designer and a shaky programmer but can manage with samples to work from.
