Default how to link .avi file to open default player

HI,

I have an .avi video file that I would like to have a simple link to
to open in users default player player...how do i do this seemingly simple thing.

You have your .avi file loaded on your server? Or its going to be pointing somewhere else?

If so, then you do it the same as your would any other link IMO..if its just a link you want to it.

What do you mean "pointing somewhere else"??
I'm sorry if that's a dumb question..
I want the .avi file to open in whatever the users default player is..

What I mean by pointing somewhere else, I meant .. is the avi file on another site? Or is the avi file on your server host?

As far as I know, the norm is that any media link you open on a browser will automatically play on the users default media player, subject to it being an accepted file format....which .avi is.

So you jsut create a link to that file sitting on your server host, same as you would a link to another page on your site.

If you have problems with that, let us know.
