Default Dreamweaver not saving

HELP!! I'm making some changes to validate some source code in Dreamweaver MX and when I click save it isnt saving! Any ideas why this would happen?? This has never happened before!

I've tried it on two machines and it does the same on both!

The code is in editable regions on pages that I have made from a template that I made!

Ok, now its working on the table attributes but not the special character for TM. I've checked the page properties and theres nothing different in there to how it's normally set!

Default Has you changed your configuration?

1. You have the same problem on two different machines.

2. The same code works fine on jkomp's machine.

3. Natural questions:
- Your folder is not write protected? Tried to save it to another folder or disk? What happens?
- Do you have access to another (free) Web Editor. If so, import the file and try to save it.
- Do you have the time to reinstall Dreamweaver on a clean disk and see what happens?
- Your disk is not infected? No other program that blocks your saving permission?

I have tried on two completely different machines but both are running exactly the same version of DW MX.

The folders are not write protected and i've tried putting it on a usb pen drive and the same happens on that.

It does save if I make the changes in notepad which means it's something to do with dreamweaver.

I dont think a reinstall is necessary as i've been using the same install for years now and i've had no problems before. The second PC has been installed more recently and it's doing the same thing on that.

There's nothing on either of the machines that would stop it. One is using mcafee anti-virus and the other is using avg free edition. Both have ms-antispyware but that's been on both for ages.

I thought the same myself at once.
1. Have you upgraded? If so did it happen after the upgrade?
2. Have you unintentionally deleted som files? How did you install it on a second machine? Dumped installation over from the first or own unique installation?
3. Have you tried to stop all other programs from running and see what happens? There may be sharing violations if you have changed your configuration. If you have Windows XP use run + msconfig to stop other programs from starting and restart your computer.

I disagree. The easy thing is to reinstall it over the old version, without deleting anything. If that is the first version that have functioned, that does still not function, the problem is not Dreamveaver. One additional test. Install it on a new Pc if possible. Also try to reset the system to a time when Dreamweaver functioned. The hard way, take backup, reformat the disks and reinstall your system.

I've worked out what it was now. Dreamweaver just wasnt recognising that I had added the quotation marks to some of the table attributes. Only when I deleted a whole attribute like bordercolor, which is invalid, does it save.

Cheers for your help anyway people!
