Default Help with colours please!

Can I get a few ideas here??

I have tried so many different colours with this site but I just can't seem to make my mind up or or even get to the stage where it looks half right....

I think I'm just convincing myself that every colour looks wrong!!!

Ideas please!!! I think I like the background and maybe the border it's just the inside page colour that needs a fresh eye :-)

Any comments greatly appreciated

Andy

Use the orangy red-colour or the same blue from your header. Keeping to a few colours will make it a lot easier to fit together. You may be thinking it looks wrong also as all the other sections include gradients whereas the pale blue section does not. Also I would not use that grid pattern behind the text. Just keep it as the background.

In that case make the main colour the electric blue in the top right graphic. Try and blend the table background colour into the graphic. If you wanted to use a pale colour behind the text use a light blue and not that nasty yellow. Then for a third colour I would use white. And another thing, use a more friendly font =)

The pale blue in the links are hard to read on the white bkgrd. The dark blue is OK, like MuNKy mentioned if you match the graphic on top it may jump out more. Could you get a light pattern or color like behind the globe? If the rest of the graphics on the site matched the globe, the theme would be more consistant. Use the pattern behind the globe on the buttons, a background behind the computers, etc. Some of the graphics look like random clip art.

I don't know if I like the page centering when you resize the window, I usually like align left. Can you get a couple pixels of space between the graphics/text and border on left?

Right guys,,

I have put a choice of colours on the page,, I have a favourite but let me know your thoughts???

As for blending the colour from the top graphic,, great thought but I think I may need to bury my head in a book for a few hours to see how to do that :-\
That's where I will put the company name too!

What do you suggest as a more friendly font??

I guess the graphics look like random clip art because they are!! :-\ I'm not quite Mr Artist, just Mr Trial and error, and error, and error!

I like the thought of the other graphics having the same background as the globe,, is that easy to explain how to do????

Thanks for the help!

Andy

To make the top better make a table like this:

<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td width="100%" bgcolor="#333399"></td>
<td width="261">
<div align="right">

</div>
</td>
</tr>
</table>

Then blur/blend the pcrepairs_logo.jpg into into the same colour as the background colour of the table. The table will fill the whole top no matter what resolution too.

don't get carried away with the blue, leave some white behind the text in main block. I was refering to replaceing the grid with a shade of blue. On the top where the logo goes you could carry the globe pattern over and fade it out. maybe a freelance graphic artist could help you out.
