Default The Black Background,

Hi All! wonder if you can advise me, I have a client thats insisting that I redesign his site with a black background with yellow text, Ive tried explaining to him that nobody will be able to read it for more than 3 seconds, help me out here ,,,any ideas what i could say to him to change his mind?

Why not just make a sample page how he wants it and then one with more 'easy on the eye' colours and show him the diiference.

Maybe he just dosen't realise how awful it could look !

Default Cloaking! (Just kidding, of course)

Serve his IP address with a different CSS file than everyone else. He can see his awful design, but everyone else can see something that is truly a thing of beauty.

Or, make a default of one and allow people to choose different themes, with the black/yellow being an option.

Not that I know how to do that stuff, just that I've seen it done very well at a few sites. If you haven't already seen it, take a look at CSS Zen Garden. Maybe it'll give you some inspiration.

That's got to be one of the funniest things I ever heard (or read)! Guess the moral of the story here is don't fight stupidity, make it work for you.
