I need help. I have set up my site and have been told that it will be difficult for search engines because it is in "frames". I can't control the format and wonder what I can do about this.
Has anyone used NetworkSolutions web site software? Will there be a problem as I move forward with getting into position in search engines. Please take a look at my site www.meetingtheneeds.org Also, I am new at this. I received advertisement on webposition.com as a program to help get site ready for better search engine position. Anyone ever heard of them?

Hi,
As your site stands at the moment you are going to get about a zero Search engine rating. Raed the following two articles on WebProNews by Jill Whalen and Sumantra Roy . Implement the no-frames option and it will definately zoom you up the SE rankings. I've had no problem getting No1 google and yahoo rankings for frame sites but you have to be meta tag and content smart and as the SE paramenters change away from meta tags especial content smart. here is a link to your home page with no frames (minus the nav bar):
http://www.meetingtheneeds.org/pages/1/page1.html then they increase with the 1 and the page1: http://www.meetingtheneeds.org/pages/2/page2.html etc.. you would just need to add a nav bar to these, using these links. Submit these links to search engines, and your set. Also the spacer gif is not loading. Make sure it is loaded to the right directory. |

Though I try not to use use frames anymore, I SE optimize each page within the frames structure. I then combat the out of frame retrieval by adding text at the bottom of the page saying something to the effect of "This page is being viewed outside a frame, click here to rejoin the site".
As Carju said, use your <noframe> tag to utelize optimizing on your index page. Provide maybe a link here to join a sitemap of sorts. Alternatively, you could look at a CSS fake frame script to achieve the same effect. Cindy
