Default Result of changing site to tabless CSS

I spent quite some time changing over one of my sites to table less CSS.

The result has me baffled.

Unique site vistors are DOWN 20%.

This is despite identical content.

I have since tried rearranging the code so the menus etc are lower on the page and main content at the top. No improvement seen

ideas anyone?

It would help if we saw the site. Perhaps there are browser compatibility issues at work here.

It looks okay to me on IE and FF, but there are a series of validation errors.

You should go through and fix as many of those as possible. I can't see it being anything else, all other things remaining equal.

It is interesting that many of the validation issues are attributed to alffiliate links and the & symbol - which MUST be that way for the link to work (rather than &)

The browser will translate the & into an ampersand, so your links will work just fine. Once you take care of this, many of the other errors in validation will disappear, as they have been brought about by the ampersands.

Valid HTML/XHTML and CSS are the best places to start.
