Need advice on how to approach design for an embroidery site
I have been asked to design a site for an embroidery company. This will not be a true ecommerce site but more of a portfolio/advertisement site to accompany print advertisements for the company.
I am really looking for any advice/opinions on how to approach the design, advertisement issues (banners, adsense, etc.) and what program to use to create the site.
I have a good knowledge of HTML. I am a novice/intermediate with Dreamweaver and am planning to use this to create the site. If this is a bad idea let me know. My experience in designing sites has been creating portfolio sites for photographers. So this will be a learning exerience for me. Should I use a template?
The company wants the site to be a place where customers can get their contact info, see what type of embroidery they have done in the past, see their price structure, and place orders through email/phone.
I was thinking of recommending they place some banners on their page for some extra income and doing some advertising of their own with banners on other sites. But I have no idea where to start with that. If you all could shed some light and point me in the right direction for the advertisement as well I would truly be in your debt.
