Ultimately, I'd say neither. The first one, whomever that may have been, probably got it from another website that did the same thing way back when.
IIRC, however, I did see it on Yahoo! first. But Yahoo! isn't without blame in the ripoff game. Their SERPs (and MSN's for that matter) blatantly rip off the Google layout.
