That is pretty bad, yes. But the worst one of all belongs to the very organization that defines the web standards:

I'm sorry, but you would think that any organization, non-prof or otherwise, that is supposedly in charge of establishing standards for a global audience would apply some readability and usability standards of their own. Yes, their coding is "technically" correct, but their opening page is a hodgepodge of links (although, now that they've started to use lists and headers, it's not as bad as it once was); the text is ridiculously large; and reading through their syntax explanations, between the font size and the vernacular, gives me an enormous headache.
That's why I'm glad they also developed
http://www.w3schools.org . If you're looking for entry-level information or have a minor syntax question, it's a much easier resource to deal with (nicer-looking too).
