Default HTML / CSS Alignment problem in IE

Please go to this page:

http://64.42.232.88/add_firm.php

with Firefox and then with IE6. Do not worry about the text in Polish. Just let me know why in Firefox everything is fine and in IE everything, I mean everything is centered.

It is a big mystery for me.

Default CSS Mystery

Hi there,

Quote:
.smenu {
color: #ff7f00;
font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 11px;
text-decoration: underline;
line-height: 21px;
text-indent: 3px;
font-weight: bold;
Declare left aligned in your CSS.

I am having a guess but default for IE is center and Firefox is left.

Just a guess, hope it helps.

Default Thanks

It is not helping. The big mystery is why everything is centered. Not only menu but everything whenever there is a table?

Hi Andrew,

add - text-align: left; to your CSS

Yes I have done it and it did not help. The strange thing is that everything is centered. This what bothers me since I have never seen anything like this.

Default Solution?

I have fored everything to "left" by assigning left alignment to "td" element in styles. Now it works but it is not very elegant solution as whatever was aligned to right or in the center is not working and I have to overwrite it with inline styles. Fortunately, I use includes (footer, header). In many places I will have to work it out manually.

The question still remains - How is it possible that everything was centered? I have not found even one CSS specification to align content in the center. I could not find it in any scripts, even HTML code.

Anyway. I have found the solution. Not elegant but still working.

Thanks a lot for your help.
