Default Tips of web design

As a graphic designer I am in confusion, wheather I will design a site creating a table in dreamweaver ? or I design the page in photoshop or firework. If I design in photoshop, is it important to slice the images ? If its important please tell me the merits & demerits of slicing.

Thanks ------ Souvik Das ( India, Calcutta)

Default Hmm....

Hello souvik das,

Here's my thoughts on the subject... Slicing images makes it easier to optomize large graphics for the web. You can have a higher quality & smaller file size while still retaining the crispness of your image (plus) people who use DSL or BB it doesn't really matter.... but for our dial-up friends I'm sure they really appreciate it.

Here's a pretty good article about slicing images that you might want to give a read.

Hope this helps.
