Default is there a way to have a printer.css?

I have created a site that uses CSS, and it does some neat (I think) stuff with links appearing without underlines but in different color, heading tags changing the font size to smaller and uses background colors, etc. but. . .

When I go to print the page, it seems to be using the default styles (e.g. underlined links, larger fonts, etc.)

Is there any way to create a printer.css that will make the printed output looks as good as what is on the screen?

If so, what do I put into it? Will it be picked up automatically by the File->Print function? Does it work the same across all the major browsers?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Turns out it is as simple as creating an alternate style sheet and adding it to the list of style sheets used by each page; with the addition of media="print" on it (might also want to add media="screen" to the original style sheet you had already created for display purposes).

Now I can dump the menu on the left, by having a line like:

table.menutree {display: none; }

and then adding class="menutree" to the table tag!
