Default MSoNormal?

Is it acceptable to have constant MSoNormal tags in code, where a document was sent to the webmaster in MS Word format, and he posted it to the web, or should the webmaster go back and remove all this MSoNormal?

Also, should the font type and color be defined every paragraph, or just once for the page?

Please help.

Removing them makes the code smaller so it loads faster but otherwise I don't think it really matters.

Jacob,

Dreamweaver MX has a built in removal/cleanup for "Word" Specific codes. As you have expressed interest in "clean code" I would suggest that every document be purged of any "unclean" code.

Regards,

Ken

Default Office HTML Filter

The following little "nugget" was pointed out by minstrel in another forum.

Microsoft offer a lightweight download that you can add to your existing Word 2000 setup.
The Office HTML Filter is a tool you can use to remove Office-specific markup tags embedded in Office 2000 documents saved as HTML.

Quick Info
File Name: msohtmf2.exe
Download Size: 265 KB
Date Published: 1/27/2000
Version: 2000

A useful tip I thought, for anyone who doesn't have access to Dreamweaver. I haven't tried it out myself, and it's only for Word 2000, but some folks may find it comes in handy! :o)

Paul
