Can anyone suggest a very good PDF file converter software that is easy to use, reasonably priced and that will be able to convert MS Word as well as MS Publisher documents to PDF format? Also, the PDF documents would have to be opened by Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Thanks. Pat |

Well, pdf files are Acrobat files, and they are made to be read by Acrobat Reader. I do not know of any outside programs that will allow you to create pdf files. With the proliferation of pdf, I recommend buying the full version of Acrobat, it will install the ability to create pdf files from any application. The compression abilities and cross platform accesability is what makes Acrobat so useful...

I had the same question recently, and here is what was recommended. It works fine, you just have to put up with some popup ads if you want to use the free version.

Possible Solution for ya:
Visit ePrintDriver.com 140+ Formats Supported... Complete control over the output (security etc)... Reasonable? It depends on your definition...

Another alternative would be to install Star/OpenOffice which could then import your MS files and export them directly as PDF.
Did I mention it is Open Source and consequently free to download? http://download.openoffice.org/1.1.2/index.html Works on most Windows, Linux and Mac platforms. Paul |

It makes very little difference (if any) which software you use.
This one http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai... Microsoft offers a free plug-in for Office programs to convert to PDF format. Pdf995, PrimoPDF, CutePDF or SourceForge PDFCreator are free alternatives to Adobe Acrobat which will allow you to save your document to PDF format. Once one of these are installed you can simply "print" from your document to PDF. If you don't want to download software you can convert your document online for free at pdfonline.com |
