I use PaintShop Pro to design all my logos/ads/etc...
I am getting all of my logos and artwork sent to the printers, but they say that they need .eps files or some sort of file that preserves the vector and color layers. I tried "saving as" .eps in Painshop Pro, but it merged it into one raster layer. How can I send a printer friendly file to the printers when they can not open .pspimage files? Thanks, Rich

Hi
All logos should really be done in vector format i.e. in dedicated applications such as CorelDRAW (or Illustrator) - for scaleablity without loss of quality if anything else... Raster programs unfortunately don't offer 'true' vectors. What exactly is the 'artwork'? It may well be that the printer wishes to find (and print with) the Pantone Colours (if that's what you use) - if you're supplying raster artwork, it'll need to be printed using CMYK which is likely to cost the client more. Hope this helps. Mark :) |

I saved it as a WMF, and it did export the vector data but it did not preserve it how I drew it...it added a lot of extra line points.
Oh well, I guess I finally have an excuse to learn Adobe Illustrator/PhotoShop... Thanks, Rich
