Default Recent Design Trends

Is it me or do a lot of graphic designs that are out today have a 1950's retro flair to them? I think they look good when there is a good balance of retro style and modern techniques. Graphics for Old Navy is a good example, but there are more, less obvious ones.

very true, retro seems to be the word of the day in graphic design trends, though I'm seeing a lot more "grungy" themes out there as well.

What's old is new again. There are a finite number of original ideas in design. everything else is a rehash.

I have seen a disturbing trend of brown being used in design. Last time I liked brown was when I had a pair of brown cords. I can still hear the swooshing sounds.
