Default Forms page

I was wondering if anybody could help me out. I would like to add a forms page to our site but do not know how. Not sure if this is what you call it. I have seen a few from other sites I like but do not know how they post them to their sites. What needs to be done? It would be nice to hear back from our user's in such things as what country they are from, male/female, year born, name, email address, etc.

The more I try to make such a page the more I don't understand. Every time I take a break on trying to figure out what needs to be done, I end up in a different direction than when I started.

Would someone please explain or give me an example of what needs to be done and where to put what files. We would like to have a forms page like the 2 column pages we have. Right under yourweb.info shopping mall area.

We are looking for KISS type of forms page. This would be attached to our newsletter graphic we have on some of our pages. This graphic will all go to the forms page.

Again we thank all that help out with this. Everyone that has given us feed back on our site has been a very BIG HELP. THANKS

Hi,

By KISS, I assume you mean Keep It Simple Stupid. What do you want to do with the form?

Have Fun,
Jeff

Forms are pretty easy to setup if you aer using dreamweaver and even in html. You just have to remember to have the form tag at the begining and end of the section.

There are some useful tutorials about so just browse the net for them.

My problem comes when trying to get a script to send the info to me...Does anyone know of a way I can build simple CGI (perl scripts)? or can anyone offer an easy to fix and alter script for my pages? www.cubid.co.uk/contact.htm

thanks

Dan

Hi,

For a good script, go here http://www.scriptarchive.com/ and download the FormMail. It's free and works well. My only complaint is that a user can't select a file and have it e-mailed as an attachment. I'm still trying to find a good (and free) script that will do that.

Have Fun,
Jeff

Hello ArnoldoT;

We don't have any pop-ups on the site except in one area and those will be going pretty fast. If you are getting pop-ups would you please tell me what page they are on. Not suppose to have any. I hate those also. Would be a big help if you can tell me on what page you saw them at. Front page does not have any. You might have some spy ware if you keep on geting pop-ups from our site.

KISS = keep it simple stupid :)

I build my pages from scratch.

I will check out your site and get back to you.

Thanks,

Hi Jeff;

I want to set up the forms for any custmer that comes to our site that would want to ask for our newsletter or any other type of forms that they might ask for. Also for any comments that they might have. Not sure if all of this can be done or am I just adding more and more to it. Not sure.

Your right about KISS. Not the band :)

Thanks for the feed back.

Hi ArnoldoT;

I checked out your site. Note sure if that would be the type of forms I am looking for. I would like things such as
email address
first name
last name
country
sex - male/female
state
comments area
check box for newsletter
form one
form two
things like this.

I saw the forms on eluxury.com that we sort of like. Of course we don't need a sign in form. Just something that our users can fill out that would give us some idea as to what they are shopping for and maybe give them a chance to send in things they want on the site or don't want on the site.

Again not sure if this is to much, not enough or what. I am sure there are some very nice sign up forms out in net land. I would basically like something that we can add to when the need is there. Make changes really easy.

Don't know how to set such a thing up. I have tried but for some reason could not get them to work. Was more of a pain in the you know what than at the time was of any help.

Thanks for the repy;

Hi,

I would suggest having one form for subscribing to your ezine and other forms as needed. If you have one form for everything people will probably not use it, expecially if they think they need to fill in all the information in order to get an ezine. On the net people want fast and easy, and they are very cautious about giving out personal information (sex, last name, etc.)

Take a look at my forms. Go to the bottom of the page at http://www.creativecauldron.com/WebsiteDesign.shtml and the top of the page at http://www.creativecauldron.com/CelticCalendar.shtml to see the kinds of forms I use.

Have Fun,
Jeff

Hi Jeff;

I found a misspelled word in your forms area. You have thjis instead of this.

Can that form be edited to say whatever I want it to say?
