Why Am I Losing PR!!

My site has gone from PR6 at Florida update to PR5 and about 2 weeks ago PR4. I must admit I din't "hold tight" but tried to chase Google's tail and have made programming changes to the site and added text to the section and item pages, blocked the "yahoo.com/domain-store" thing which used to give us dual listings for our site. One as the domain and another listing below it with the yahoo/domain-store type of thing. (can't recall exactly how the URLs were written) I added text links instead of graphic links, used H1 for titles of sections and items. I had a site map made but it turned out it was just my index page and that was an expensive "non-change" since it already existed but looks a bit cleaner now. I had the product name and model put in to the img alt tags. I also deleted my old links page (it was not passing any PR...PR5 link page) it was of no help to potential link partners and did not show up in their back links. I am really confused at what the heck I've done or have forgotten to do to steadily lose PR and of course the site has never rebounded from Fla update. Every conceivable search term found me in the top 10 and now I'm second page news = 0 sales! I would implore anyone with a few minutes and some skills to look at it and give me a few suggestions to get going again. PS: no one will link to me since I re-created the links page (PR0 until new PR is assigned) funny thing is, I did this and researched the links, spent the time to re-create a /resources.html page for links as Google wouldn't pass any PR from it when it was PR5 or 4 (link page). I am not sure if Google even spiders my site well. The software we have shows them as visiting several times a day but have only had my URL main page listed as bing spidered, the other Google clicks (many) say nothing and only leave the GG DNS numbers but no lists of pages spidered as other engines do. Others will show as a click with the entire site's pages listed as the "trail", but not Google?? I'm ready to pull my hair out but then I couldn't afford implants with my new reduced income!

Shows PR5 for me, but it does changes a bit as it appears one data center still has old data (thats my guess)

None of those will affect PR

Mistake. It will be affecting their PR, its just Google never shows all backlinks and only a sample. Just becasue Google does not show it has a backlink, does not mean its not being counted.

PR is a mathematical function of incoming links - either you have lost links to you or the PR of links to you have less PR to pass on.

This took more than a few minutes.
Anchor text of most of the links to your site have Safety Enforcement as the clickable text (you rank number one for that phrase) - you need your keywords to be the anchor text. Anchor text rules!

Mistake. Google does pass PR from links.xxx pages. Its just another one of those myths that get floated from time to time. We have discussed it several times here (so have most other forums).

All your pages, including your resource (links) page are in the Google index.

I think your real problem is that a lot of your links may not be helping you.
What about the crosslinking from your other site (Keep it dry)?
What about the link exchanges you have with sites that have exactly the same IP address (eg Fragrance wholesale; TV products; police employment)?? - these are the only ones I found - are there any more?

I couldn't find your site listed in DMOZ or the Google Directory. That would certainly help.

Those things will help your relevance, but not your page rank.

How do you know it wasn't passing PR? Not all links show up in backlinks, though it is generally thought they still add to PR.

You should link to it from every page on your site so it attains decent PR in its own right. Having lots of links to it will also make it easier for Google to find it and index it. Thank you for taking the time to do such a thoughtful look at my site, clarifying certain concerns and pointing out that links not "showing up" really do, but are not shown for unknown reasons. I don't "get" that but I'll take it on faith. I liked you bringing my attention to the IP "cluster" that I use for several link partners and will definitely diversify links in the future, with that in mind. I really appreciate it.

Thanks for pointing out also, that all links don't show up. I have never shown up for over 1 1/2 yrs of checking partners' backlinks in Google. The page was PR5 and had about 15 links on it. I acted in response to a thread which said that Google was currently not passing PR through pages coded domain/links.html as mine was but not in 100% of cases. I posted this on yet another forum and a couple of folks posted back that they had the same situation and changed the URL to something different and then started seeing their site show up as a link when checking a partner's site in Google for backlinks.
I know that Google has my old links page cached, I saw it today in my backlinks. If I re-create it on my site will it migrate to my site again with it's PR or is it all best to be left alone now?

PR mainly = links Pr -1 :)

you lost your pr6 means you lost pr7 link
lost your pr5 means you lost pr4

that's not alawys the reason but it's about 80%

try to find a higher PR link
