Google shows barcode instead of their logo in the search engine

Today Google celebrating the 57the anniversary of bar-code. So Google replaced their logo with bar-code

Hahaha, yeah, I've seen it too. I was surprised to see the barcode. I thought my internet connection had problem or what. lol

I was just about to post something about that. I thought I was having a stroke. (ROTFLMAO).

It would seem we've all been bar-coded. Wouldn't it be something if the barcode was different for each of use that went to their page. After all, it is google.

Yeah I've wondered about that too. They probably have a dept. and full staff for researching which logo they'll use next. It's mapped out for decades in advance.

They can well afford the extravagance of it I guess

The idea itself is not bad, but the anniversaries they celebrate are somewhat bewildering. Spurrs a lot of forum threads, too. And - who could even imagine that the barcode actually reads Google! <gasp>

I've thought that exact same thing. I can understand Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc., etc. But when I see something like the anniversary of the paper clip, anniversary of the ring binder, anniversary of the cork, ......anniversary of the exclamation point , anniversary of the anniversary , it gets a bit bizarre. ..............How 'bout the anniversary of the emoticon.

Personally, I prefer Google's many logos to Bing's different pictures.

• My life may be too short to get used to another native SE.
• And my favourite web browsers are FireFox and Opera.

I'm a bit confused by what you mean by all that, but, that image IS the most adorable thing I've ever seen! (I love animals). I'll have to pass that one around.

hahaha, nearly fell off my chair laughing when I read this.

Spent all yesterday afternoon and last night trying to fix a dodgy laptop I bought on the cheap - did all sorts of diagnositic stuff, finally managed a clean reinstall of the OS , connected it to the internet so I could update the OS etc and called up Google to see if the connection was working.

Thought it was my computer LOL - just another glitch in the whole process.

Sooooo funny! (Not that I thought so late last night!)
