So I've got an idear for a client I'm working for.
Currently on their site, they list and feature sellers of certain products. The provide a search capability for their users which allow users to search for sellers of those products and have a product description page which in turn links to the the seller's feature page. On that seller's feature page which describes them in detail, address, contact info and so forth and at the bottom of the feature page is a list of the product's manufacturers which is generated dynamically. Currently there are tons of manufacturers of these products AND my client doesn't want to take all the time it would take to add these manufacturers to the database - with information and links to their sites. It would take a long time, domain names change, pages change and so forth. So what if I were to use google's search results as a resource in the sense that each manufacturer name is a link to google's search result for that keyword? That would give the users an almost surefire resource that would provide information or links to that each manufacturer. Also note if you're going to answer: the site itself is surrounded with one main keyword so if I place in each link the main keyword with the manufacturer name there's almost a 100% chance that the first search result would be a link to that manufacturer. What do you think?

Hey kevsta! That's a good recommendation. Actually I was looking for it.

so i searched it and basically found the complaint of people not searching for answers/information on their own accord... no point here as the manufacturers of the products we feature aren't our competitors in any way. so if we provide a link to google's search result on that manufacturer we might be providing a nice service for our users... but does anyone have an idea on how that would affect rankings? currently the site's rankings are quite decent....

find blah product if so it'll be fine, we do it a lot, although technically speaking you should probably nofollow it as G dont want serps pages in their results, although practically we have also used it without nf and G never seem to index their results as far as Ive ever seen.
