To rank well you need to be:

1. Relevant
2. Important

Ok...are you implying that my site, or services are not either of these.

Or just how am I to process your statement?

Can you be a slight bit more specific?
Thanks...

Default cont....

My ranking last month was 497 (popularity) this month is't down to 182.

I have done nothing new and my score has dropped?

It seems that All the Web has made some radical changes? Any scoop there?

I appreciate your feedback!

Hi csolutions

Alltheweb is now using the Yahoo! index, that should explain the change.

"AlltheWeb's index (provided by Yahoo!)"

Ahhhhhh... yes it does and what recourse would you recommend.

Can I go about regaining and improving my rankings?

More links?

Thanks!

Neither - i did not look at your site as I was in a bit of a rush, so gave some generic advice.

To explain further, to rank well you need to have a site that is relevant to your keyword(s) and important to your keyword(s).

1. Importance. Search engines want to rank the most important sites first (at least they try to) - search engines use various forms of link popularity to determine importance. ie the more links to your site, the more important you must be. (Google calls this PR). So to make your site more important, get more links. Things have become more complicated if you look at some of the theories surrounding Google recent changes - in which case links from 'authority/hub' sites and from sites that also rank high for the keyword(s) *may* carry more weight in determining how important you are.

2. Relevance. Search engines want to rank the most relevant sites first (...certainly debatable if hey are achieving that, but at least they try to). So to be relevant to a keyword(s) you have to let the search engine know what your page is about. Some of the more powerful ways of doing this are to have your keyword(s) in the anchor text of incoming links (best way), in the title of the page, in H1 headings, have the keyword(s) with the highest density on the page (but still kept as low as possible and lots of content with the keyword(s) in it. Less important ways to become relevevant are to have the keyword(s) in H2 & H3, in bold, in italics, in the meta description, in the alt atributes, etc

The whole idea of the ranking algorithm at search engies is to weight all these different factors when someone types in a search query and then in a complciated mathematical function eithier multiples relevance by importance or adds them together - different SE's will do it differently.

When I looked at your site, I could see no H1's with your keyword(s). I checked a few backlinks - none of them have your keyword(s) in the anchor text.
