GOOGLE NEW SERVICE : Google News Alerts - Beta

After the Gmail and Google Web Alert (read topic I ve recently post), Google News Alerts is a new service (Beta) that News are sent by email when news articles appear online that match the topics you specify.
Google has made many changes like the new homepage and add new services.
Will Google following Yahoo Stategies than go to Public too?

This has been out there for a weeks or so now. I signed up for it based on the keywords of the DMOZ category I edit in the hope that this would be a source of new sites for consideration to list.

However, of the 30-40 web alerts I got, almost all were news stories (I also get Google news alerts for other keywords) - of those 1 was a possible for a DMOZ listing, but I deceided not to list it.

From what I have seen, this is the experience of others - ie too many news stories.
