Does being listed on Froogle, with it's very high page rank, count as an incoming link as far as indexing or pageranking goes? Or is it just not the same thing since it's a search engine itself (even though it's a bit different as it runs off of data feeds that stores submit).
They code their links Code:
http://froogle.google.com/froogle_url?q=http://www.mydomain.com/store/customer/product.php%3Fproductid%3D16557&fr=AczzCh0C5kXS2Iy9C8L2oyOJhA9To6KdlPk_aLx8DNW4ovsbrsAjAp0AAAAAAAAAAA |

Hi:
I asked the same question when I was in Search Engines Strategies in Chicago (Dec. 2003). The answer from one of the Google representatives was NO. In fact, she said, Google and Froogle had different algos. She also compared having Adwords which doesn't help or hurt Google Page Rank. I hope it helps! |

Thanks. I guess I was thinking, since a dmoz listing can help you maybe, just maybe, the froogle would count for something. Oh well.
On another semi realted note, I'm really bummed. I've held the #1 spot on google for a great 2 word keyword phrase for months now (I also hold #1 spot for the same on yahoo). According the www3.google.com search, I'm being bumped to #2 and the dmoz category is taking my spot. OK, so it's not my spot, but it sure was beginning to feel like home. Not that 2 is bad mind you, but losing that #1 makes me want to know why and how to fix it. |
