Pharmacy Affiliate Sites Banned on Google

We host some sites for a partner that is running pharmacy affiliate sites.

Many of these sites are well indexed in google.

Some of the sites were banned some time ago (do not show up anymore since 6-12 months ago):
AntiDepressants Pharmacy - Buy Antidepressants, Buy Antidepressives Online, Depression Depressant Depressive Depressed Melancholy Pessimism Dejection Sad
Soma Drugs

These are indexed well and receive lots of traffic from yahoo, msn.

Recently more new sites sites were added with templates from the same affiliate provider and all got banned after a short time, i.e. :
Purchase Tramadol Medication
Soma Prescription Muscle Relaxant Stiffness Of Muscle Injuries Treat The Pain

These are all based on affiliate provider templates but each has tweaks and some new content.

Some other sites on same topic but using different templates like wordpress / custom static pages were indexed fine.

Do you have any idea about this? Do you see anything in common with these sites that could cause removal from google index?

Looking at the keyword stuffed title tag I would venture to guess that is just the tip of the iceberg in the spam / artificial methods used to promote the sites.

Trying to manipulate google is often a foolish pursuit.

I don't think it has much to do with the templates used, there's certainly more to that.

The second site mentioned has just 2 words in title, the words from the domain name so title keywords are probably not the issue here.

Including multiple keywords related to the site's content and purpose can be considered manipulation? It's not like the site has keywords about mp3 download or britney spears to manipulate search engines in sending lots of traffic while the site is about something else.

We could suggest site webmasters to refrain from stuffing sites with related articles, but that would leave the sites as simple clones of the original affiliate distributor templates. Maybe they should just move those sites to another affiliate distributor that has other types of templates and content...
