Default My Website is Invisible in Google - Please Help!

My site www.conduitbender.net is basically invisible. Currently a "0" google ranking. A week ago it came up from nowhere to #239 over a period of three days. Then it was suddenly dropped from listing. Is there something in my construction that caused this?
I am a self-taught "old dog" guy who is under system overload with all the stuff I am trying to learn. I sure could use some help from someone.

In all likelihood Google fresh grab you and push you up, and then (because you are not fresh as much as the days before) dropped you back down.

The best general thing you can do is submit to directories. My www button has many and a good place to start.

HI Burkey
There is nothing in your server or site construction that I can see is stopping you from being spidered, but the only listing you have in Google at the moment is one unspidered link to your homepage.

I can't seem to find any links to your site and this may be the root of your problem.

I don't find you listed in Yahoo, alltheweb or MSN either.

Follow fathoms advice and get some links to your pages and you should be indexed soon.

Default whew!! You've got me busy.

Thank you Mel, and Fathom. I have been working HARD all day to try acquiring addional links. I've been hard at this for awhile now. Previous advice said not to bothewr with PR under 4-5. Thats why noone wants to link with my new site. No Rank.
Maybe links from some of the directories included on your www will help. I'm trying.
THANKS so much for taking the time to help. I sincerely appreciate it.

From what I've noticed, Google gives you an initial boost when you're first indexed. You actually do show (usually, albeit low) in the results. Then you disappear without warning, until your PR goes up.

Somehow, my last site managed to gain a PR of 4 within 6 weeks - it took that long to index my reciprocal links. Google shows only 3, and I know I have closer to 8-10 out there, most of which are PR 4+. I also link to several websites on my front page that are considered "expert" resources with a very high page rank, even though they don't link back to me.

Even with a PR of 4, I don't show for any keywords except for my own domain name, and even then, I'm 22nd. <sigh> Maybe in another 6 weeks I'll actually show in some search results somewhere.

Due to contributions and advice from forum members my site is no longer entirely invisible. There is noticable difference in graphics, text, links, but mostimportantly I had four pages #12 or better (one at #2) for Google results, and four at #10 or better (one at #1) in Yahoo results.
If nothing else this shows what the efforts and advice of forum members can do.

Well done Burkey - the only advice I can give is to really reiterate what others have said within this and many other forums.

Links - with anchor text, and content are vital to improving your SERPS. It's a pain in the rear end getting links, but if you want your website to succeed it's something that you have to do.

I don't know if you are aware of this tool, but if you visit www.digitalpoint.com you can use a keyword tool which tells you where you are listed on Google for your optimised KW's.
