Default Article pages not getting indexed??

Most of our pages are indexed, but the articles don't seem to be getting picked up.

We're really trying to get some SERP for the Managing Directors name, he's the author of the articles. But we're getting killed because of his previous businesses and famous last name!

Suggestions will be most welcome.

How old is the page?It will be index even you're not doing anything but it will take long. To make it fast, I suggest place the link to the forums in your signature. Choose those forums that are popular.

To get quick index - Thumb rule - should be "Unique"
2nd submit it with few Press Release sites either using free or paid services.

At least wait for (IMO) 15-30 days if your Keywords & site highly traffic & visited frequently by Search Engines, at same time do not forget that if you uploaded New Page or few changes after long time, Search Engine may takes longer to catch it.

We are working on this. I've made several suggestions to client about both paid and free.

We upload a new article about once a month. Some of these articles are from November so they should be popping up already.

Just bookmark your articles with social media sites. The more relevant the better! They'll be picked up in no time! Make this a process you go through everytime you add new articles. The easiest way to improve a site's indexing is by acquiring links!

Also...

Change the title tags so theyre unique for each page and so they target a specific keyword.

Sign up to Google Webmaster Tools. That will alert you to a lot of problems that occur.

Have a DOCTYPE set for each page.

I still am at a loss as to why the article pages aren't being indexed at all. Everything comes up clean in the diagnostics.

This is not a complex website. A few overview pages and a small number of articles.

Even a search for the article title isn't giving any love.

Client is getting frustrated and I don't know what to tell him.

Can anyone see why these pages aren't being indexed?

The article title did not come up on Yahoo! search, either.

And if you published them on a blog and linked to the site, would that work? Or would you get the 'duplicate content' problem?

Would an Adwords campaign help? Link exchange? Sponsoring blogs relevant to the site?

/* edited out while I dig deeper */

Also, to help with ranking on his name, every single place where his name is listed "by Francis Goldwyn, January 8, 2009" should have his name be a link to his profile.. And you should consider setting each profile on it's own page and fleshing those out more..

ok -
https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.co...F&fr=sfp&bwm=i

just 3 links pointing at the website and 2 of those are from the site itself..

Get more links!!!!!!

What the heck is this mess tacked on to the end of the URLs??
utma=1.2751158052691630000.1233881794.1233881794.1 233881794.1&__utmb=1.5.10.1233881794&__utmc=1&__ut mx=-&__utmz=1.1233881794.1.1.utmcsr=webproworld.com|ut mccn=(referral)|utmcmd=referral|utmcct=/google-discussion-forum/77785-article-pages-not-getting-indexed.html&__utmv=-&__utmk=175292834

Not sure why you are stuffing referrer info in to the URLs.. This is "bad"..

Did I mention get more links???

You have duplicate content issues by having your links to the home page have /index.php rather than just the root URL..

Oh yeah, you might want to consider getting some links pointing at that website..

I'd also suggest updating the copyright notice on your website and I'm thrilled to see you not listing SEO as a service that you offer.. Makes me willing to help rather than make fun of you

Double check if you have that "noindex" code on the page. Also, if you have submitted a sitemap on google, try updating it. You mentioned that you are updating the article once a month, google might have adjusted the crawl rate to your site. Social bookmarking may help as well as what MattInertia said. Or if you are a member of busy forum, you may include the link as your signature.

@abrilward... read the thread man...

Well... They you are: http://www.quorumassociates.com/articles.html - Google Search

The lesson to be learn is... links! You dropped a few links on WPW and the pages were indexed over night. That's because a site like this has new content every minute, loads of inbound links and therefore a high crawl rate. Apart from the problems highlighted above feydakin is absolutely right, you just need more links! Links are doorways to your site. No doors... no visits from Big G!

you could just simply update your site map then resubmit it. they will get indexed faster that way than to wait for the search engine

Hey articles are not indexed but you can find back link for site from that article in the back link checker tool. So it is also one benefit of the article submission.
