I'm a relatively new adsense user and am using it to monetize a blog. I recently enjoyed a spike on Yahoo due to ending up as #1 for my target keyword phrase. Shortly after, I noticed increased advertising revenues.
The only other achievement that I have noted was attainment of PR1 when the blog had been at 0 since I implemented it in October. My traffic has only increased slightly with the Yahoo spike. Are Yahoo searchers more likely to click on ads? Has anyone else noticed this trend or is this just a happy coincidence?

Congratulations on the Yahoo ranking. It sounds like you are just getting a lot more relevant traffic now. Those visitors are actually interested in your ads. Previously your traffic may have been mostly other blog owners who tend to ignore ads.
Now that you know how to get to #1 on Yahoo, you should try to repeat the same for another keyword or two. In time you may also get good rankings on msn and google. |

It is also great if you got hit the #1 spot on google SERP. Google receives more traffic than yahoo on major search terms..
