Question Google Search Results Structure.

Hi All,

I recently went through the search results for the company - INFOSYS in Google, and this is what I found

infosys - Google Search

Now, if you look closely to the search results you will find that after the websites listing on the top, it's services are also being potrayed, like this;

Careers BPO Services
Contact Flat World
About Us Offerings
Investors Newsroom

So, my question is, CAN I MAKE THE SAME FORMAT FOR MY WEBSITE FOR THE SEARCH RESULTS FOR MY DOMAIN NAME?

In simple words, is it automatic that Google is showing the search result for the company along with the specific services for the same, or there is some way to get listed along with your services in that manner.

Please do put some light on this topic.

Thanks in advance.

The display of the simplified site map (I keep forgetting what it is actually called) is completely algorithmic. The requirement for that to be displayed is that based on the user's query, the search engine knows that the first domain is far more authoritative than any of the other pages in the listings (often happens when searching for a company name, or the name of a concert or sports venue) and the search engine is unable to determine based on the query what section of the site the user is looking for - no one page is authoritative for the query relative to other pages on the domain, even though the domain itself overall is authoritative.

Wow that's really informative. Thanks!

So that means we cannot make that types of search results, it's just a Google Algorithmic way of displaying the search results.

I find it somewhat surprising that you do not know the answer to this yourself! - according to all the links in your signature you are supposed to be some sort of SEO expert .... don't figure.

The forum is to clear of the questions and to share the knowledge, not to comment.

Thanks

Hi Tushar,

Those are called Google SiteLinks. Google show extended SiteLinks automatically in the search results. Google follow set of rules to display the same. If your site got SiteLinks, you can view them in Google Webmaster Tools, you have an option to block the URL's which you don't want to be displayed in Google SiteLinks.

Thanks,
Amar

Every few months, you will see posts by many people declaring that Google has it in for their website.Often, you see threats about how the webmaster plans to sue Google for hurting their business' profits. On and on it goes... Every webmaster who was dropped from Google's top search result pages wants to believe that Google singled out their website and their business for punishment and extinction.

google sees, what is related and useful for the users. Google have some criteria to see the relevancy of the site.

Everyone has the opportunity to have that kind of results. It's like branding. You could get that site links if google thinks that your site has relevancy to other page and if many user is searching for your company name.
