Default Problems with Google Search

On November 21, 2008, my blog began experiencing a significant drop in Google search traffic. It appears that individual pages are no longer being indexed by Google, although older pages, categories, and static pages (contact information, etc.) are still coming up in searches. The blog is www.greenbuildingsNYC.com. If I do a site search in Google, the pages come up, but not if I search individual keywords or titles. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I haven't changed anything on my back end and have run all of the Webmaster diagnostics and it doesn't appear that anything is wrong- Google is saying that it can index the site, etc. Another interesting problem is that if I do a Google blog search and just search for the site, all of my posts come up, but if I run a blog search for keywords within those posts, no results come up. Thanks!

Also, the problem doesn't appear to be happening in Yahoo or other search engines- just Google.

Great example of the problem- if you do a Google blog search for "nzinga townhomes," my article on the project comes up #1. If you do the same search as a Web search, nothing.

My point of view is that no body is perfect. I agree that its a machine but made by human. So, its natural.

Could be one of a few things. Sometimes blog posts when they are first indexed rank high and then drop in the SERPS when things settle doown

It may also be that you have built links from bad neighbourhoods or incured some other form of Google penalty

Another option is that there may have been an algorithm change. It seems that your pages are all indexed just not doing well in the SERPs

Finally your links may have been devalued

I would focus on two things

Contine generating good content, try to post every day if you can
Get backlinks. Use article marketing, frum participation, press release, linkbait whatever. But get links. Loads of links

Good luck

The traffic always changes, there's always ups and downs in Google search.
