As far as I know you can't add your site to Google alerts as part of the service they offer, but you can add your blog as a keyword you want to be alerted to, I don't think you can add it so that it will always be mentioned. If you want your site/blog to be included, focus on specific keywords in your posts...then subscribe to Google alerts using that keyword to test it out and see if you receive any alerts with your blog included.
If you are looking to see if your blog/name is being mentioned elsewhere on the web, then use your blog or name as a keyword and create an alert and you will see where/if it is being mentioned anywhere besides your site.

You can add any site to Google Alerts - However, it is no longer run by Google!!!
Google have outsourced it (It's on my credit card bill somewhere as I use the pay for version) and to be honest - the results I am getting can be up to 2 or even 3 years old. Found the confirmation on this Google Alert © 2008 Indigo Stream Technologies. Terms of use. Not affiliated with Google. Google Alert - Professional Web Alerts - Terms Indigo Stream Technologies Ltd. ("Indigo Stream"), provider of the Google Alert service, respects the privacy of its users and takes the privacy of all user ... www.googlealert.com/terms.php?premium=1 - 18k - Cached - Similar pages

Also, every external website I link to seem to go up in pagerank. Usually the same page rank as the blog I am trending on. So if the blog is 5 out of 10, then every site I link to seems to become 5 out of 10.
I am coming to think Google can update more than 4 times per year.. hrrrmm! What have been your experiences? |
