google pr [page rank], it is not given to every site just like that, it only depends on the quality of site it is, and how well it is maintained, about its importance better is the site higher is the pr.

PR is not much important if your goal is to improved rankings because you can still have good rankings without having high PR but if you want to increase PR you need to get links from high PR site.

I am agreed with you. Google page rank is most important in SEO or web site optimization. There many factors involved in getting top ranking and good position in major search engine.

There are other factors likes of onsite page factors,content etc which are more important than page rank.

I think PR is a major distraction especially for affiliate marketers. Relevant for those flipping sites or sellinglinks but otherwise, just something that takes up valuable time you could be spending in areas that can actually make you money
