Default Adding a new site - duplicate content?

Hello, all. Thanks for this valuable resource.

I have a site, jlist.com, that sells both adult and non-adult products from Japan, separated carefully into two sections. At the request of some of my customers, I'm going to be creating a new site, jbox.com, which will have "duplicate" content from my main site, namely the non-adult product categories. The jlist.com site will retain both adult and non-adult products, allowing adults to shop for everything at the jlist.com domain, and people who want only the PG stuff to go to the other domain.

My question is, what will represent duplicated content to Google? I will be having totally different page name/header info on the new site, and can do something like shuffle the product display order, but in general the descriptions are going to be the same, and there will be a link back to the main page for people looking for our adult products. Will this be viewed as a spam attempt by Google? If so, how much do I need to change it in order to have the pages viewed as "different"?

First I respectfully request you remove the link from your sig - it is against WPW rules. While I notice that your website offers a disclaimer - the website is inappropriate.

To answer your question unilaterally - "all code" is considered content thus a design change could be enough to prevent Google from seeing as duplicated content.

I highlight that because there really is no precise understanding as to where Google draws the line - thus your risk of any form of copying could in fact get both websites penalized.

It may be a better approach to "remove" one total section from the current website and post in a new site - thus giving your customers what they want, and remaining in Google's favor on both -- without any worries.
