Beginner webmaster needs some help.

Hello to everybody here,

This is Peter from Budapest, Hungary. My friend and me have started a small web site about business opportunities in Hungary. Unfortunately, we are not sure how to promote the site as much as possible.

I have looked at several useful posts at WebProWorld, but still we need some guidance, if you don't mind. By the way, I found most of the posts very useful. Congratulations.

So we are looking for several solutions to promote our site.
1.) We haven't been able to submit our site to Google. How can I makre sure that Google actually indexes my site? They say that Google does not guarantee the listing. Is it worth to pay for Google to be listed? (AdWords)

2.) We have done the META tags as well as possible. We have made no robots.txt file. We use ALT text often. We usually keep a clean HTML code.

3.) Could you please anybody suggest a good and effective way to promote our site in search engines or/and directories? I know that it depends on the topic of the site. Well, our site is anything about "Business in Hungary".

4.) Is Google the only engine that we should focus mainly on? In which other search engines do you think we should consider even paying to be included?

Google have already indexed you.

Just gets lot of links to your site and the search engines will be taken care of. Submit your site manually to Directories - especially www.dmoz.org

4.) Is Google the only engine that we should focus mainly on? In which other search engines do you think we should consider even paying to be included?

Google is numero uno - with lots of good links all the other will index and rank you.
