How to optimize my Online Store better in google?

I set up an online store in http://system.fastcommerce.com/ It is free for me to set up my small store. But few people visit my store. I want to look for some ways of promoting my online store better?

Advertise your products on free classifieds like craigslist.org, backpage.com, kijiji.com etc.

To start with, one thing you could do is remove about a million duplicate instances of the words "free" "shopping cart" and "ecommerce" from your meta tags. Then take what's left and formulate readable, natural sounding page title, meta keyword and meta description tags.

Additionally, the "title" meta tag isn't a standard tag and is of no benefit to you so you might as well delete it.

a visible sitemap would also increase usability and the likelihood all your pages will get indexed

What I would do is clean up the site , change the layout around a bit , start advertising and throw out a special deal or two and you should see the customers .

With the advent of Wordpress and other arrays of blogging softwares, poor old forums have lost their charm. 3 years earlier, PhpBB was the most used software in forums, almost every webmaster had a forum about something. It was an instant hit since it’s launch because of it’s folksonomical nature, but in a more un refined way as compared to the latest softwares.
One major reason why a forum failed is because of it’s non SEO friendly nature.

• Forums did not have SEO friendly urls
• They did not allow bots to crawl the inner pages
• They had SEO un friendly titles
• Forums in general did not look at SE’s with importance at all, so they did not leave any room for tweaks as well.

With all these problems in front of us, let’s see how we can make the forums (PhpBB mainly) SEO friendly?

For any type of organic traffic (straight from search engine result pages) you need to target certain keywords.
These keywords are whatever your online store is selling, so if its Wholesale Parsnips, you would want to research and see what are the highest trafficked keywords for that niche.
I believe WordTracker.com is a free tool for this.
Then once you find out your niche keywords, it's about building links and relevancy to boost rankings in google (and others search engines.)
If you plan on focusing on paid search, as opposed to organic traffic, you will need to focus on a PPC campaign or some such other agenda, which would require a sizable budget and risk planning, which is a bit complicated and probably not suited for a free e-commerce site.

Do on page optimization on your site and build more links. Make sure that the description of ever page is unique.

Go to the related online community and promote your products unless you can hire a SEO professional to do the job for you.

We read a lot about SEO, we think we know a lot about SEO but when it comes to implementation, it's not as simple as we think it is. So, if you want to promote your services aggressively then you should spend a little bit of money and consult an SEO expert.

Build content for your online store.. write more about your products and participate actively in forums which are related to your business. Blogging should help you alot.
you can also get Adwords account if you have good budget on online advertisement
