To be found or not!

Hello

I have a problem of not being found. I have an internet shop selling Swedish crystal and it seems whatever I do I cant be found. What am I doing wrong? I have even tried AdWords with not much change, I have a data feed to Froogle, no reaction after that either. i have tried link exchange but so far nothing!
What I dont want is to pay loads of money to place an ad or similar - with no result! There must be another way!

I would be really greatful if anyone out there culd have a look and tell me what Im doing wrong. I know Im using a frameset but I have put proper information under the <noframe> tag.

Your site looks good, although it seems search engines don't care for frames. Your key words should match what's on your page. The ones listed above should be used and more of the same ones added to your page for better keyword density. I can’t see your code to check out your setup, but if possible, keep your style elements on a separate CSS and have as much plain old text near the top of your code. If a spider has to read more than a hundred lines of code before seeing any keywords, your ratings will be poor.

What is a robots meta tag?

Is there not a chance I can keep my frames? It really helps me to display the products. Would it be enough if the first page was without frames? There must be a way around it?!?

You can be found in the rankings on Google but not for very popular searches. If you were looking to buy crystalware or glassware, what words would you use in the search? Which engine would you use? How many people are like you in those choices? Once you know that, you can plan your strategy.

Getting indexed is easy, and ranking for something is also easy, but the trick is to rank for something that your target customers would actually use.

When you have the phrases and words they'd use, make sure that your pages use them too. Speak your customers' language.

I completely disagree with the advice to use a robots meta tag. It can hurt you. The Author tag is worthless too. Does anyone expect customers to view the source and get a branding message?!?

I wanted to say, nice post Black Knight in regards to the link to your other post. You bring up some good points.
I found submit/express to be a handy tool for finding out your keyword density, which is why the results were posted.
I don't have the answer in regards to the “frames” issues, hopefully, someone else will enlighten us.

Thanx for the good advice "Black Knight". I know I struggle with these key phrases. Its hard enough to find the perfect phrases/keywords but to do it in a different language makes it more difficult.
I know more words when it comes to glassware than my dictionary and after that Im a bit lost. Trying to check what other glass sites use - but if they use the wrong phrases then Im back at square one again.
Trial and error - is what it seems like at the moment.
Do you think I shuld remove my frames?

Hi,

Have you tried www.wordtracker.com?

If I remember correctly, it analyzes your site and suggests alternatives to your keywords (either that or you enter the words/phrases yourself). Nice thing was that it gave the number of times a word or phrase was searched for on the major search engines in the last 60 days - which gives you an idea of what is popular.

Pay-for service/software, but the free trial was enough for me.
