Different Google Bots?

Good morning all.

When I check my access logs I always see 2 different Goolge Bot entries:

1) "Mediapartners-Google/2.1 (+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html)"

2) "Googlebot/2.1 (+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html)"

Is there a difference between the two besides their name? I am just curious more than any thing else. :)

Googlebot/2.1 is the regular Google spider.

As I understand it, the Mediapartners-Google/2.1 spider visits your site either because you are using AdSense or because someone else who is using AdSense visits your site (using certain browsers?) and points that spider to you.
