Question about GeoTargeting

A question about this Webmaster setting. Suppose you have a site that is international - has a downloadable product for example or just info. Right now you have better positioning in your little corner of the world, where your Web site is hosted.
What happens if you select "Do not associate a geographic location with this site" - Do you GAIN positioning in other locations, or do you just lose positioning in the area that is the IP address of your server?

Well if you select a primary location in GWT tools then I would think that is you had positions in both that you risk losing positions in the secondary location. I dont think you get a boos tin the primary, but this feature is pretty new to most all of us.

Most likely is that you loose positions in your corner of the world. Internationally you have more competition and since perhaps your competition wants to rank in their own corners, you'll have less chance there when you´re not local, wether it is has been set so or not.
