Google images
Hello all
I have a website that it's main content are images, it has over 16000 images, that have been updated in the last couple of years, I have a very nice quantity of 96.900 pages indexed in Google, yet, only 19 images in Google Images
I know google images bot is slowly, or at least I read about that, but why is so slow?
All the images have alt, title, a link to the image... now I am showing the image inside a h5 tag, just to test something different
I have allowed google bot to spider images in webmaster tools
Am I missing something regarding images?
Thanks for your time

Re: Google images
Did you enable Enhance image search in Google Webmaster Tools? Did you label your images with Google Image Labeler ?

It maybe better to remove the following as it is better not to restrict
the bots in any way & bad bots will ignore restrictions anyway.
User-agent: *
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /tmp/
Disallow: /cache/
Disallow: /class/
Disallow: /images/
Disallow: /include/
Disallow: /install/
Disallow: /kernel/
Disallow: /language/
Disallow: /templates_c/
Disallow: /themes/
-----------------------------
also to remove line from meta tags
--------------------
-<meta name="robots" content="index,follow" >
----------------------------
and just replace original robots.txt file with
----------------------------------------
User-agent: *
Disallow:
---------------------
allowing everything
just might work.....
of course many other people will probably beg to differ.
(of course it could be that the site is not in ENGLISH (broma).....

Re: Google images
As I understand it - Google Image Labeler only allows you to label random images from the internet (not specifically pick your own images) - so you could spend approx 2237 years doing this!
With regards to image bot being SLOW - in my experience that is true and there is NO way to speed it up (someone correct me if they know better). It normally takes at least 3 months to get new images on my site Ireland Photos / Desktop Backgrounds / Irish Wallpaper to appear in Google images..
In my opinion - it also helps if your images are very good quality - e.g. if more people click on your image for a specific query than anyone elses, it tends to rise towards the top of the image search results (again is anyone knows better, please correct me).
It also helps if you allow others to link to your images, and then politely request that they link back to your web site if their site starts appearing in the image results...
I don't think you need to resort to H tags.
I have a feeling that images from your site may tend not to turn up in the Google Image results if 'Safe Search' is turned on (which it will be for the majority of users who do not know how to change the image search settings)..

oh great, I haven't noticed that, so it is indexing it, just hiding it from some results
thanks for the answers!

Re: Google images
Perhaps give this a try: add your pictures (depends if the quality is fine) to a photo sharing site like flickr or picasa web album and give them some good tags.

I have just been looking at the site again and noticed
these links on the right side of the page.
tanga
powerpoints
mujeresculiando
tanga
videospornograficos
anal
fotod
www.prostitutas.com
gratis
Theron
vidio
meando
graciosas
I followed them
(purely for research purposes you understand) although they appear to not go anywhere as a stupid joke of some sort
google might pick up on some of the words & THINK you are connected with hard core porn so not indexing your pictures.

it is not a joke, this are the last ten things people have searched for in the site
you think I should restrict all this dirty vocabulary?

Re: Google images
Another photo sharing site, one that google owns, is panoramio.
This is where google pulls images for that maps.google.
This won't take people to your site directly, but is a way to promote yourself in the profile.
Search for Krustyland and you will find my photos, which at some point will appear on maps.google as they have been selected for google earth

Re: Google images
Portucuenta,
This post by ron angel is your exact problem! You´re blocking Google from indexing your images!!!
How could you ignore that post???? It's been more than a month since that post and you´re still blocking them.
Not so smart, is it?
