website is not being indexed by Google
I've been creating websites for sometime now and all of these have been found by Google shortly after being created (some within 2 days), except for one website which breaks the mold..
I've took my time designing this website, a couple of months really and slowly built up the pages until it was completed about 2 months ago. I've done a bit of optimisation, a reciprocal links here and there, submissions to search engines using WEB CEO, submission to local directories, created a Google site map file and search bot file but still the website is not coming up under Google.
It's not even about achieving high ranking, but because some people prefer to type the domain name into the Google search bar rather than the browser's address bar it's important that the website comes up. for potential users.
The website address is; Your Home Restoration Services Ltd, for all your property renovation and restoration needs (yourhrsltd.co.uk) if you search for this or search for yourhrsltd you will find a series of websites and directories where the site has been linked and mentioned but to no ovail.
Because the client wants the website to come up in Google I could only think of putting together an AdWords campaign for the site to be displayed, now I was taking a wild guess that if the website is to come up in Google AdWords surely it would be recognised but that did not happen.
I would really appreciate any feedback on the issue at hand!
regards,
Anwar M.

Re: website is not being indexed by Google
This is a bit strange. I checked and your site has not been cached by google and it does appear to have sites linking to it.
Checked your robots.txt in case there was something funny in there, but it seemed fine. Your meta keywords are a bit spammy (although I have seen *much* worse), so may be worth chopping them down a bit.
You have just added another link to the site (above), so I think unfortunately the best thing to do in the short term is continue building links. If you still aren't indexed in a couple of weeks I would suggest there is something more sinister going on, but I can't see anything on a quick scan that should be causing you problems.
Going forward you should sort out your canonical url problems (i.e. home links going to index.php) as this will help with rankings.

ThinDenim
thanks for your suggestions,
although I'm not too sure about what you mean by canonical url problems - would you mind ellaborating on this.
thanks again,

Get a Google webmaster tools account ( https://www.google.com/accounts/Serv...overview&hl=en) for this site, have it verified, and you'll probably find out what's wrong.

One thing is sure: You are spamming your meta tags! And just canonicalization issues cannot cause such problem.
Maybe other issues too, but I did not check.

Re: website is not being indexed by Google
With regards to setting up Google Webmaster; I've already tried that and although the site has been verified and has a Google site map, it still says 'No pages from your site are currently included in Google's index. Indexing can take time.' since day one. (I'm starting to wonder how much time they meant by that!)
with regards to Meta Keywords; although I've had other websites being indexed even though they've got more keywords I understand that over doing it does more harm than good and appreciate your logic so I've updated the keywords for all the pages to see if that'll make any difference.
Once again, your input is appreciated but I'm running out of ideas!!

Re: website is not being indexed by Google
Do you have any back links to this website? It does not appear so. Googlebot finds websites through links from other websites.

Re: website is not being indexed by Google
well,. Yahoo says you've got 9 backlinks: Yahoo! Site Explorer
But I think Google is pretty much ignoring the hotel sites and webpromotion sites because they´re not related. Then there is a free index site. And the only site that might be considered a valuable link doesn't seem to be indexed by Google.
So looks like you need to get some real backlinks.
Still a little strange, because just 2 weeks ago I put a brand new tiny website online on a new domain, for a group of alergy doctors, really simple website, and all I did was submit it to Google using their submit form. After a week all pages were indexed and it's getting some visitors from Google now. (just like one or 2 a day for now, but that's how a new website with few pages start.)
Which makes me wonder, you registered that domain 6 months ago. When did you submit it to Google?

Re: website is not being indexed by Google
If you'll forgive me for saying so, I think there's a lot you need to change in order to get (seriously) noticed by Google.
For a start, home renovation is an extremely big field, with firms all over the world involved in it. So why would you expect to appear in Google when you're tucked away in a part of the U.K.? In other words, if someone in say Florida US is looking for help, what use could you be to them? And why would Google decide to direct them your way? Surely you need to clearly identify your location, your area(s) of operation (what, for example, are the Regions you refer to?), and (for heaven's sake) an enquiry form that tells people your address instead of hiding it from them?
Beyond this, your website is more of an institutional ad than the mine of information that's going to make it valuable to searchers.
I know I'm being unkind, but one essential truth of achieving web success is to have -- and clearly prove that you have -- a Unique Selling Proposition. But do you really convince anyone that you and you alone are the firm to contact -- even regrdless of whether they are UK residents or not -- for guidelines and help regarding any renovation project they have in mind?
SEO isn't easy, but it's a great deal more than saying "Here we are. Why not give us a call?"

Re: website is not being indexed by Google
Peter (IMC), I've submitted the site to Google about 2 months ago I think, I've even submitted it to DMOZ. And the fact that the site has been indexed by yahoo and LIVE(msn) really makes me wonder, Why not Google? But I will try to pursue backlinks with more relevant sites and communities.
To go back to your other point about a simple site that gets indexed simply by submitting the url via Google Webmaster, well I've done just that with other sites both before and after. both have been indexed fairly quickly without having backlinks save for a link from the website promotions site which again is not relevant to those sites..
Duncan Pollock, I take on board all your views as constructive pointers but I must stress that it doesn't matter that the site is (seriously) noticed for now, I just need it to be recognised first! I'm not asking Google to bring up the site as a result of someone looking for restoration, renovation, repairs etc. I'm asking that Google find and return the site as a result of someone typing part of the domain name or even the full domain name.. surely that's not asking much from the big G!
I thank you all again for your thoughts and time;

Re: website is not being indexed by Google
It could even be that because of the existing unrelated backlinks, Google algorithms decided to wait for a real link to show up. Not saying this is the case, this is just speculation, but the initial link profile isn't good. Perhaps Google is just waiting for now.
My tiny simple website has no backlinks what so ever, so the link profile doesn't exist yet. No reason for Google to mistrust it.

Re: website is not being indexed by Google
anwarm: If you aren't too concerned about appearing in Google because people search for Restoration Services, you're perhaps worrying unnecessarily.
As long as you tell people your URL address, your site will turn up when people punch the www.... into their search bar.
Thus, you should include the URL in all your business cards, flyers, media ads, business letterheads, etc. This will do more for you than if you end up with Google indexing you. Indexing is of help only in the sense that your site will appear for a relevant searchword or phrase.

Re: website is not being indexed by Google
thanks for all your help guys, the site has finally made it into Google!
The only problem that I can really pin down is the META keyword tag, lesson learnt.. don't overdo META keywords when they don't mean much to Google in the first place it can only result in exlusion!
