We have been pretty successful with our search ranking in MSN (#3) and the Open Directory (#2) but we just can not achieve any success at all with Google. We have tweaked and tweaked and we have to be missing something right under our noses. Can anyone take a look and provide some sound advise on how we can achieve a decent ranking in Google.
The keywords we use when looking at our rank are: Insurance Cleveland Ohio HELP Please ! Our site can be found at: www.leusch.net which redirects to Cleveland | Ohio | Insurance | LEUSCH Insurance Services - Bob Last edited by INSURANCE; 04-17-2008 at 10:39 AM. |

Hi Bob,
First thing i noticed was this - www.leusch.net leusch.net Cleveland | Ohio | Insurance | LEUSCH Insurance Services These URLs all produce the same page so Google is seeing three copies of your home page and will likely be penalising your for this. You need to setup these so that only one is live and the others 301 redirect to the chosen one. I tried to find both sites but got a little confused when checking your Cleveland | Ohio | Insurance | LEUSCH Insurance Services domain? I'm not sure what kind of site this is? Something to do with Lycos? On first glance i would say drop the tripod site, build everything on the www.leusch.net site and concentrate on building good links from geographically and industry relevant domains. I would listen to the advice of others here as well because these tripod sites are something that i haven't come across before.

www.leusch.net is my paid domain name which is provided to me by Domain Registry of America. Domain Registry of America provides the redirect service to the Tripod site which hosts my actual website. The domain name I would like to use is www.leusch.net and not the others but search engines like MSN and Dmoz do not like the redirected site URL's (or so I am told) so that is why they list the actual tripod URL as our site address. At this point I am really not sure how to fix this.

The first thing you need to do is get a copy of your site from Tripod. Once you have this get yourself some US hosting for the www.leusch.net domain and get your site operating fully on this domain.
Once this is setup you will need to talk to the people at Tripod and get them to setup 301 redirects from leuschinsurance.tripod.com to the relevant page on www.leusch.net. This is really simple for them to setup but they may have an issue with you no longer paying them for hosting your site. Companies can make things difficult in this situation but persevere! The 301 redirects will make sure that all the good stuff from the Tripod site is passed on to your www.leusch.net domain. All this might take a bit of time to sort out so i would recommend doing this in your slowest period of the year. One question? Which domain was ranking well in Yahoo and MSN?

Just an after thought - as i have never come across Tripod sites before.
You should hear from other SEOs about their experiences of Tripod sites before you do anything...

Well, Google is a lot stricter in these sort of situations. Forget about the Dmoz and MSN rankings. Once you're up there on Google these are an after thought and usually reflect success on Google.
I reckon my earlier post is the best course of action.

Who cares about ranking in DMOZ and MSN? MSN gets no traffic and DMOZ is a directory. You might want to check out this page:

i'd start by losing this personally. I had to remove half of it to get it in here, it was 9230 characters over the 10000 charactor post limit. white on white, tut tut.

Insurance, YER BUSTED!!!!
You've effectively done just about everything you can to ensure that a search engine can't or won't index your pages. Initially, the source of your problem is related to your implementing a frameset to display your Tripod hosted page on the leusch.net site. That's why Inertia was getting confused by mulitple links to the same content being displayed in the SERPs. Invisible text? Seriously, that's going to get you delisted in and of itself. Get that removed immediately (across your entire site) and ask to have your site considered for reinclusion in the Google index. Get the site off of Tripod ASAP and spend a few bucks to have it hosted somewhere decent. Get the leusch.net domain transferred to your new host and you'll be in business. .02
