Perhaps an easier way is to add &gl=us to the url of the SERP and hit enter.

Even within the U.S., Google has multiple data centers, any one of which might yield results different from the others.

google data center ip - Google Search will yield a list of any number of sites that will assist in retrieving results from a specific data center.

This alone will not direct ones inquiries to the specific Google data center desired. That is why I provided the information re. locating the various data centers' IP addresses.

Hi Members,

Can we trust Google adwords preview tool ( https://adwords.google.com/select/Ad...ingPreviewTool ) for checking organic results in different locations of USA?

No.

AdWords need not be indexed, but merely tagged for the appropriate display markets. And, ads are not served up by the same servers as are organic search results.

Organic listings require indexing of the sites represented there, which is done at multiple data centers. Each data center needs to be constantly synchronized with the others; but, as each is constantly generating new indices, they are never completely in synch.

Any given data center can serve up organic listings, based on the indices that it currently has. And, as a given geographical area can be served by multiple ISPs, each of which employs its own routing scheme, persons accessing Google from different ISPs withing the same geo-area may in fact get their search results from different data centers, and thus see different organic listings, while still seeing the same AdWords listing.

Here is site which performs keyword rank checking across multiple Google data centers simultaneously, caches the results, and repeats the search every 6 hr.. As I've just now discovered it, and am now in the process of testing it, I cannot vouch for how well it works.

Bad Neighborhood - Google Multi Datacenter Rank Checker - Find Your Position on Google

Go to command prompt on your pc then type ping google.com
get the ip of the data center then put it on your browser. Then now check your keywords on that data center.

I have a keyword that rank well in some data center, but, the rest is very far behind. I read somewhere that google will sync all the data center to reflect consistent result. Any idea how long the process will take?

As the routing/routed protocols used by ping/routetrace and http are different, and as SEs employ load balancing to distribute traffic across their various data centers, the only way to get results from a specific data center is by explictly addressing it by its DNS name; e.g., py-in-f104.google.com, or rn-in-f104.google.com, etc..

Synchronization between data centers in a distributed system is generally an automatic continual task. If you are observing persistent differences over extended time periods, then there may be certain geo-location factors involved, such that servers at various data centers deem your site to be more or less relevant to a given area than to a different area.

So, it is actually not advisable to set a GEO location in google webmaster tools, is it? Because I did set my location in it. Maybe that's why all other data center not showing good ranking.

It's possible. It's also possible that the content of your site is deemed more appropriate for certain geo-areas than others.

You should be able test for any effect of your geo-setting at Google's Webmaster Central Tools by re-setting it to "none," and observing whether or not your SERPs from the various data centers change significantly or remain essentially the same.

Thanks for your help, deepsand. It's amazing the GEO setting has so much difference on my keyword. I set it immediately after reading your reply, and after a couple of days, my keyword for other data center shows lot of improvement.

Thanks again.
