Default Online Reputation Management ....payback?

Well, I am sure I am not the only SEO expert in here that has online reputation management clients. Those clients with ripoffreports, blogs, articles, etc online that reflects them in a negative light.

In order to get this information buried it takes ALOT of time and tedious work. It has come across all of our minds to give the offending party payback for posting the dirt in the first place. That way they can see what it's like to be in the clients shoes. But that would be unethical. BUT....

What if.... we Google bombed the offending website with a word like FRAUD, or SCAM, etc. Then we bring it to the website owners attention. That way we can give them an example of our POWERS as seo experts, and they just might feel like cooperating.

Online reputation management has become a HUGE business because anyone can post anything online anonymously about anybody, and get away with it because the courts protect the publishing website from lawsuits.

Ripoffreport owner Ed Magedson himself has admitted removing reports for money. He admitted that on the stand in a court of law. He has sent lots of companies an extortion letter telling them that for thousands of dollars down and thousands of dollars per month, the reports will not be shown to anyone. Then on top of it, there are people who own websites just to get the adsense revenue and publish articles on lawsuits, and other information. That way they get traffic from anyone Googling that persons or company name. It's an abuse of trademark. On top of that, if you file a dispute with Google about trademark infringement and they take the offending website off of that search, Google posts a DMCA notice on the bottom of the page for anyone to see. They can just get the link to the offending website from that report and go see it for themselves.

It is a rough business. I charge thousands of dollars for basic listings because of the work involved.

So is there anyone here that agrees with the above Google bomb idea, or maybe you have a better idea to get things going in our favor? It has been published before that people need to start filing fake ripoffreports against senators and other government officials, lawyers, etc so that those people take this stuff seriously and take action on changing safe harbor laws for the modern internet age.

Better use google bombing to get them dropped from searches (a lot of incoming links in a short timeframe will trigger spam alerts on Google). Oh, well I guess you can use SPAM or FRAUD as the anchor text

I reckon the only problem will be how the "SEO brotherhood" will know who's right? The fellow SEO's client or the guy that's bashing the client? Should we follow the code or find out the truth? Muhahahaha ...

LOL. Yeah. Some clients are guilty. But there are alot more who are victims. What about those who did business with friends and it turned sour? The friend would know what would hurt you most is messing up your ability to prospect online.

Or what about those who have competition that pretends to be a customer of the company and files a fake scam.com or ripoff report?
