Google Shuffling Rankings?
I'm comparing some search results for clients in various industries and product categories over the past 4 to 6 weeks and see quite a bit of change in Google rankings. I imagine things will be fine once the dust settles but is anyone else finding changes in their rankings since the first of the year?

Re: Google Shuffling Rankings?
I've seen some mild changes in Google but nothing to cause concern.

Re: Google Shuffling Rankings?
My main site went up on the 2nd Jan for several search terms and dropped again about 3-4 days ago, but I made some changes about 2 weeks ago to explain the last change.

Of course I've seen some changes. It's because of link building strategies.

Re: Google Shuffling Rankings?
Google has done nothing as far as i've seen. I have been watching a website that I did an overhaul on in 2004 for a guy that didn't pay his bill. The site has maintained a number one ranking for the last 3 or so years till a few weeks ago. It dropped to #2 so I investigated and came to find out that someone in his business had finally figured out how to truelly optimize their site for google and are offering an easier to navigate website like i had suggested to this client 4 years ago. LOL So No real drastic anything from google noticed here.

Our sites are having the same problem. From Top ten rankings, it dropped into around #70. I don't know what happened.

Really?... you cannot see any changes on your sites, even mattcutts Blog experience that bro.

- First, Matt Cutts is not an SEO. And he spreads already enough of bulls....
- Second, are you calling me a liar?
- Third, I do not care what Google is doing, as far I am not trying to trick them.

I am customer of Webnauts. I have to say that we have not seen any degrading in rankings for some of our most competitive terms. With over 6,000 posts, I would tend to take Webnauts at his word. Few, if any here, have his knowledge. When he asks a question, people will talk around it but not often answer it... correctly.
I am sure that Matt Cutts is not an SEO. What he has to say is generalities. I am also convinced he sometimes provides misinformation. What is the definition of “IS” Mr. President? Cutts tells people what helps Cutts.
I would take some time to read more posts and not attack people that have been here forever. You have 20 posts torpengkute, what makes you the expert? Show me the goods! Short of that, you might want to show respect to some of the people that do know what they are doing. As for Webnauts, I am sure he has forgotten more than you currently know. No offense!
Oh, have a nice day all and my two cents.

That's their algorithm, we have nothing to do about it... One reason for those spammers who manipulates rankings...

Re: Google Shuffling Rankings?
Torp...what are you talking about? A question was asked Webnauts answered it. I've worked with him, and am a client and I'm not noticing drops in traffic on any of my sites. I'm seeing no negative drops. I've been on a constant uptrend for months by following the basics that folks like Webnauts believe in. Why would you want to attack someone on here right out of the gate.
Google does do updates to their algorithm to constantly attempt to improve the overall results of their engine. In the end their concern is to provide the best results so they have the most clients. I've loved their more recent updates as I've seen good gains in traffic in all of the recent sites I've worked on.
I applaud Google for continually make updates, why wouldn't they? It's their business to improve the quality of the results to improve and expand their customer base. Business 101.
If you're dropping, then an evaluation of your site needs to take place. Has it been stagnant for 3 years? Did you build links from bad neighborhoods? Did you buy links? Is there someone with better information than you? There is a lot going on to think that Google is slapping everyone in a negative way, someone has to be gaining the spots that others are losing right?

Torp...one other thing...you should probably look into making sure your site works in various browsers, it's broke in IE6 one of the most used browsers on the web today.
