Default Higher page rank in secondary pages than in home page

After the last pagerank update, one of our sites Amarillas 11811: guÃ*a telefónica de empresas y profesionales en España has a higher pagerank value in secondary pages, such as Buscador de empresas en españa: Buscador Avanzado del 11811 than in the home page or the domain itself. Any suggestions to explain why can it be? The home page receives links from all the pages, there are no nofollow links and we have tried to have as many inbound links pointing to the home page as possible (and none to this secondary page). What would be the best strategy to transfer the higher pagerank to the home site?

Do you mean delete the home page and have a new home page (for instance, index.php instead of default.php) and send a redirect 301 from the old URL to the new one or deleting the secondary page and redirecting that URL to the actual home page? Please explain.

delete the secondary page, the one with the higher page rank and set a 301 redirect to your homepage... It's logical people do it all the time. You probably picked up some good backlink on that page (someone linked you with high PR site).
