Website Value Calculator » What is YOUR site worth? CTABUK Edit - This tool is should be treated as 'entertainment' it has no relevance in SEO - frankly had it not been from a long standing member of WPW I would have deleted it.

I was mistaken while reading the title of the thread.
Moreover the link shows that my site has a PR3....but when i manually check the PR on the toolbar it is grey. I'm very disappointed that it has come down from PR3 to PR0.

Which tool to be considered?

I am simply amazed that this thread has not been pounced on by another moderator. Anyone who takes any notice of that tool needs to start reading the threads in this forum about pagerank and Alexa.

I am placing a warning next to that link - as it is an insult to SEO/SEM.

For the record - pagerank (Internal -updates constantly - Alexa is a toolbar gimmick with nothing whatsoever to do with SERP or sales it can only read browser searches that have the Alexa toolbar placed on it - and anyone silly enough to do that needs to rethink SEO/SEM.

That is exactly the same kind of thing - I had actually thought that the forum had put this past them and were moving on to what the real pagerank is all about - and that is links in and links out per page based on relativity of content to subject matter. The aim is to create pages that are Anchor text rich and that the Directory pages that point at you reflect similar keywords and topic related subjects - same with linking out.

Alexa is as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

ok, im pretty new to this SEO stuff, I have a rather large ecommerce website with over 8,000 products in it and write articles for it in 3 blogs and download my items to Google Base as well. I started off this site as a subdomain of a friends site that has a PR of 4 , after I switched off of his it dropped to a PR of 3. This all happened back in October. So when I checked yesterday it showed a PR of 1 now. So I guess my question to you is , do you think it will go back up to a PR of 3 anytime soon with the methods I currently use (ie, blogs, Google Base and many product items) ?

maybe read up in the thread Dave posted above and then start a new thread with specific SEO questions. I doubt anyone is going to help you if you just ask someone how to rank higher.
