Default Post Your Google Goal

My company was very diligent this past year in tracking where the money came from. $294,000 in sales for the year with $210,000 from Google leads.

Our goal for 2008 is to double it to 4.

Whats your revenue now and what are your projections for 08?

Rick

I think If i were you I would spend a lot of time on non Google leads

The figures you quote say. . We only look to Google for traffic. . That is NOT GOOD... (all eggs in one basket)

A better goal would be $210,000 from non Google traffic...

Rick, I do not have a Google goal. Unless you are counting 'AdSense goals'
Talking about them is against Google guidelines.

Current goals are to get my own rss feeds displaying on my own pages, in a format I can live with.
To move my sites to my new server where I can do this.
To be brave enough to attempt the move, or find someone I can trust to do it for me, and not wipe out my credit card.
To update and re design about a thousand pages.
Organise it so I can get the satelite on the roof to feed both my computers.
Catch up on at least 500 hours of work.
Fix the air conditioner inmy office..

But no goals for Google. . .

Tubby

Surely you jest? I'm breaking a Google guideline simply by stating an objective fact (revenue generated by Google leads) and making a goal for the following year?

Please tell me you're joking.

Rick

I think Tubby is referring to Adsense 'goals'.

Displaying CTR, CPC, earnings etc is against the TOS

Thanks for the clarification.

I think that Tubby's first post was more important though.. You are looking at generating 70% of your revenue from a single source.. This is rarely a "good thing".. I'm not overly thrilled that we get about 40% of our revenue from Google based leads..

As for growth, are you referring strictly to google adsense revenue or are you actually selling a product??

Selling a product . I assumed . . quite well by the look of it.
(unless of course he is selling real estate on the Gold Coast in this case he sold the back veranda on a beach house)

Selling a service. The roi for this single source is staggering, which in my book is indeed a "good thing".

No argument there rick.... but next years figures would be better suited with a wider source.
when you say 'The roi' are you talking AdWords?

hey tubby, peace out!

No adwords at all...just kicking butt in the generics. the generics brought in that 200 k so I want to keep a good thing going...and then some. my investment was the cost of the site, hosting, renewal etc....not a whole lot really...over the last 6 yrs. started with 1-3 calls in 2001 and then 10 in 02 then 50 in 03 then 100+ in 04 then ....you get my point...
Im sure im embellishing...but you get the pt,,,but no hyperbole on the 200 quan this past yr.

i appreciate what you're saying with the wider source tubby, you're preaching to the choir. our 1/2 page ads in the main directory ($12,000) for the yr brought in 90+ but could have done $250,000 if we had the infrastructure...

if i was a nice person i guess i could count on the word of mouth

too bad im such a prick

Rick

Pricks do not 'sell' Rick. People do not buy from pricks, we choose what we buy and who we buy it from if given a choice. (although some us do buy silly things)

I am always 'peace'd out' Rick . . . It never seems to convert/translate to my written words.
