Default Subdomains and Google

I found this...(well it was in my inbox but...)

Sub Domains To Be Treated As Folders By Google

this could be trouble...my issue is my subdomain is totally different (subject/content wise) from my main domain. If google treats subdomain as a directory of the top level domain a lot of people would have to rethink how their doing things. But as the article says if google does this (treats subdomains like directories) then even their results would be revised. For some reason i don't think that matters to google at all. They much to big and strong to be worrying about search results when in fact they own them.

Anyways...but now that i think about it, it makes more sense for a subdomain to be at least a related offspring of the top level domain doesn't it? For the most part anyways or in situations where the top level domain maybe sells swiss watches. Why would their subdomain be offering local listings in web design. It really doesn't come across as logical.

Maybe google is logicalizing their algorithm.

...well good...as Mr. Cutts said: A subdomain can be useful to separate out content that is completely different. Google uses subdomains for distinct products such news.google.com or maps.google.com, for example...

Well, I was right to predict it well ahead of time, about one year ago that google will be doing it. I love it. People who have different content on site's don't need to worry. People who need to worry are for example if I run an entertainment site, and I create subdomain for every category like, wallpapers, screensavers, music, movies,

this will be handled like this

Movies
Movie 1
Movie 1 wallpapers
movie 1 screensaver
movie 1 music

don't you think that I don't need subdomains for this site, and more stupidly some ppl even use it like below

Movie.Name.English.Movie.Wallpapers.mysite.com (so ppl really do this)

This will control these spams and we'll get quality traffic who are working on content rather than finding a script that can automaticaly create subdomain, and subsubdomain for each topic on their site. Now let me know what you guys think.

I would prefer wallpapers in one subdomain , screensavers in the other even though they are closely related.

That's why google will take care of it by considering them as folders
