I don't have any newer sites to test ... and I don't know whether it's useless or not ... but I have no doubt the sandbox exists ...

Cheers, MJ

If you mean with sandbox the delaying filter applied to newly indexed websites which are targeting competitive keywords, then yes.

John, how long would you expect the delay filter to last for?

From my observations I can only say that there is no certain time period. How long the filter will last, depends on several other factors than just time.

Hello,
Here's some raw evidence. See what you can determine from it.

I went live with a client's site October 29th. Emini Day Trading Course, Learn Daytrading E-mini Futures, E mini Training Course Online The site is spotty when it comes to search terms, but he started showing up within a week for some less competitive terms. The traffic stats show that Google has referred 260 visitors so far in Nov. He has made two $995.00 sales and 10 opt-in emails.

I expected the sandbox, but don't think it appeared. The site still is not showing up for the most competitive terms, but not invisible. The site always had a white bar in the tool bar. (I've heard gray means supplemental. (One might assume that any new site with a new domain name would default to a gray bar?)

So far G sees about 73 backlinks. (The client is relentless in getting them. I wish I had more clients like that.)
There is lots of fresh content on the site.
I put a G site map on the site.
I put G Analytics on the site.
I put relevant high value outbound links on the site.
It has a blog and he blogs everyday.

I just followed all the advise I get from you good SEO people and perhaps that is what let the site jump over the sand box, if there is a sandbox.
Thanks for listening.
Jon
