Default My Adsense Ads aren't displaying. Any ideas why?

Hi, this is really strange to me: my adsense ads aren't being displayed for some reason on my website A 100% Free Online Dating Site for Personals & Singles

If you check the code you will see the adsense scripts and if you check out google's cashe of the site A 100% Free Online Dating Site for Personals & Singles you will see the ads.

I know I must have broken some of the terms/rules of displaying adsense ads but I've had the hardest time figuring out how! My ads have been running for almost a year now...

Any help in the world is appreciated.

Kindly,

I had ads disappear from a site last week for a few days for no specific reason. While the site was not adult related, some of the comments were starting to contain excessive profanity. Once I went through and removed some of the profanity, the ads (and rankings too) came back.

Might just be a coincidence, but the timing is there...

yoou might be right and I'll have to go through the comments to make sure...

I did just get a response back from google adsense providing for me a list of common reasons and solutions...out of the solutions I had already done that - namely to re-copy and paste my adsense code but that didn't work...

the other options had no relavence to my problem so all I have left is to check the comments but I have no idea why comments would hinder my ads displaying...

So adult content on your site affects your adsense ads?

I didn't know that!

---------------------------------
Below is the email I received
---------------------------------

Hi,

Thanks for your email regarding your Google AdSense ads and ad targeting.
We've outlined below the most frequently asked questions, which we hope
will address your concerns. If you still have unresolved questions after
looking through this material, please reply directly to this email and
we'll be happy to help you further. Alternatively, feel free to post your
question on http://groups.google.com/group/adsense-help?utm_source=txbd,
the AdSense Help Forum just for AdSense publishers.

- How can I change the ad targeting on my site?

Unfortunately, we aren't able to manually adjust the ad targeting on your
site. However, we encourage you to check out our section targeting
feature. Section targeting allows you to suggest sections of your text and
HTML content that you'd like us to emphasize or downplay when matching ads
to your site's content. By providing us with your suggestions, you can
assist us in improving your ad targeting.

Please keep in mind that it may take up to 2 weeks before your changes
have an effect on your ad targeting, since it may take this long for our
crawler to capture any changes you've made. The tags and instructions for
adding the section targeting tags to your HTML code can be found at
http://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=23168 .

- I can't see the Google ads on my site.

We've outlined the most common reasons and solutions below. If one of
these reasons doesn't answer your question, please reply to this email
with the answer the questions at the end of this email. Your answers will
help us better investigate.

1. Your code may be modified - Please copy the ad code again exactly as it
appears in the 'Your AdSense code' box of your AdSense account and paste
it directly into the HTML source code of your web pages, without any
modifications. Also, please keep in mind that modifying the ad code is
against our program policies, and it may also result in errors on your
page.

2. You may not have Javascript enabled -
https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654 .

3. You may have ad blocking software or a personal firewall enabled -
https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12655 .

4. You may need to clear your browser cache and cookies before accessing
your site again -
https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=23767 and
https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=35730 .

- My ads aren't relevant or only public service ad (PSA) appears.

This is mainly due to the following reasons:

1. Our system may not have crawled your pages yet - It can take two weeks
or more for our system to index your pages. Keep in mind that some pages
may show ads, while others do not because each page is crawled
individually. Also note that our crawler is not related to the search
results crawler, and runs on a different schedule.

2. Your site may not contain enough text-based content - Our crawlers
can't derive meaning from images and dynamic media. Unfortunately, we
aren't able to set keyword targeting for such pages at this time. We
recommend adding more complete sentences and paragraphs to assist our
crawlers in gathering information about your pages and determining
relevant ads to display.

3. Your site may be primarily in an unsupported language. We're currently
only able to provide ad targeting for the languages listed at
http://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=9727 .

4. Your site may contain non-family safe content - We currently have
certain filters in place, and our system does not target content which it
determines to be potentially sensitive, negative, or mature. Because this
is done automatically, we can't manually alter to setting for ads to show.
However, please know that our system may be able to deliver more relevant
ads as your page content changes,

5. Your ad unit may be set to display image ads only - Image ad inventory
for your content may be limited at this time; if you've chosen not to
display text ads in an ad unit, we'll show PSAs in that unit when there
are no relevant image ads available. We recommend updating your ad code to
display both text and image ads.

You may wish to visit
http://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=10035 for other
common reasons why PSAs will appear on sites.

If this email doesn't answer your ad concerns, please reply to this email
with the following details:

- What browser version are you using?
- What operating system version are you running?
- What is the exact URL that is causing you trouble?
- Please also attach a screenshot showing this problem. You can find
instructions for capturing one in our Help Center:
http://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=38066 .

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

From what the Google e-mail said, it looks like you don't have enough text-based content on your site.

You're kidding...well my site isn't made for adsense in the sense that there is NOTHING of use on the site accept to clickety click but now that I remember, over the weekend I did change the main image to be a rotating image which will change with each page load...

Maybe, just maybe that's causing the problem...I will have to see when I get home and I guess after a few days...but I will also check into the possibility of there not being enough text/content on my pages...

I can't say with 100% certainty, but I lost SEO rankings and the AdSense Ads right after I had approved some questionable comments.

The AdSense Ads came back within 1 day after editing the comments. After a few more days my rankings came back.

Your second google script is wrong.
It should be: <script type="text/javascript"
src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">

...well I checked and deleted my current adsense script...and placed only one perfectly copied script code into my page and nothing...

not only nothing but I forgot to mention that on each page where there are adsense ads there is also a javascript error occuring...strange...

lastly, i thank you all who mentioned the possible comment problem...my site is basically a template and I've had to revise much of the program here and there and now I have removed all public profile comments until the user is logged in and only the recipient of the message can view the comment as well...

Brutal...but I supposed since the javascript wasn't the problem then it must be the comments (hopefully)...

I'll keep in touch!

P.S. ...Activeco I thank you for your help but all 4 of my ads have that part of the script in them...im confused...

I don't know which one you "perfectly copied" , but this one below works.
Checked two times, I could see your ads.

----------------------------------------------------------------
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
google_ad_client = "pub-5750360842820018";
google_ad_width = "728";
google_ad_height = "90";
google_ad_format = "728x90_as";
google_ad_type = "text";
google_ad_channel = "3910764164";
google_color_border = "FFFFFF";
google_color_bg = "FFFFFF";
google_color_link = "031545";
google_color_text = "2F63B3";
google_color_url = "008000";
//--></script>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

P.S. You also had some //comments in the middle of the script, which I removed above.

Sorry it I repeat and messages above, only time to scan read them.

Don't know if this is the case.

No more than 3 google ads.

Sometimes, Very, very rearly Google just can not find any ad's to display and usually shows a default.. You could use
AlternateURL - Replace Default Ads for these.

Copy and Paste How To, could be wrong, (a small amount of error will cause this to fail).

Oh! Well I believe the comment in the middle of the script is adsense's way of knowing which chanel I'm using, the chanels help adsense and the publisher know where/which ads are being clicked, that shouldn't have caused any problems...

What browser were you seeing my ads in? I've checked on FF, Opera, IE and on a mac and couldn't see the ads at all.

You actually saw the ads? Has anyone else been able to see the ads?

Oh yes and IF that is the case then how can I see my ads in googles Cache of the page but NOT on the original!?

That make no sense...

jtracking, you're running too fast.
Check here for yourself and make the adsense code clear. There were several faults in the code.

* Note that ads are not related, but it iis due to my site general content.

That is nuts...and the bottom link unit isn't displaying...but did u FIX the errors on your page and then it worked?

IM LOST !!

Your page still says there is a javascript error in it too...

Well I cannot fathom why it works on your site and not mine PLUS I don't understand what happened when i REMOVED all my adsense code last night and injected brand new code...it still didnt work and threw an error -

so there is an error with my sites code that is buggering my adsense code?

Please forgive my lack of understanding...

Well I don't have enough time to go through all of your code. You have to do it yourself.
But I guess the main culprit is the line which begins with the comment :
//2007-06-06: freedateclubgoogle_ad_channel = "2343320155"
It should be:
//2007-06-06: freedateclub
google_ad_channel = "2343320155"

or completely remove the comment line.

The numbers in the adsense code should be quoted:
google_ad_width = 728;google_ad_height = 15;
(google_ad_width = "728";google_ad_height = "15"; )

and the lines separated for clearness and avoiding of similar problems:
google_ad_width = "728";
google_ad_height = "15";

I see you're using PHP to produce the page. You should throughly check the output before releasing it.

Success.

Very well Successor!

I shall edit this later tonight and thoroughly thank you for YOUR time in working through this with me.

I'll post tonight after my fixes and let you all know but for the life of me I can't understand why when I removed the adsense code the js error stopped and when i pasted in NEW adsense code it still erred...

However, you are seeing what I didn't so I'll look through...

Thanks again everyone!
